LITCHAM JUBILEE HALL TRUST

Community Social Wellbeing

The Jubilee Hall committee would like to thank the community for their kind and generous donations and fundraising support over the recent months and years.  Your fundraising support and attendance at our events has allowed us to ensure that the hall is kept open for the benefit of Litcham residents and to the wider community.

The interior of the hall has been recently decorated and now is a lovely bright and warmer space for meetings and other events and activities.

We would like to encourage the hiring out of the Village Jubilee Hall again for the benefit of Litcham residents and surrounding communities.  We have a low rate of just  £5.50 per hour.  So to plan from April/May 2024 onwards we are appealing to people who have a skill, knowledge and a passion for a hobby or interest of theirs.  For people who would like to share and pass on their knowledge to others from a ‘beginner’ or to a ‘higher level’ in an interesting and fun way.  It could be a ‘one off’ taster session or a regular meeting up to suit your individual subject of interest or simply a social get together to enjoy like-minded things, Suggestions include but not limited to:-

Art – painting and drawing, pastels,
Crafts – sewing, knitting, embroidery, flower arranging,
Exercise & Wellbeing – dance, yoga, Zumba, Pilates, Weightwatchers.
Music – singing, playing a musical instrument, music appreciation.
Education & Learning – such as English & Maths tuition – various levels.
Computer and Digital skills – various levels.
Games Club – Carpet Bowls, Warhammer, Lego, and Board games.

Your skills and enthusiasm would be invaluable to our community wellbeing and learning.  You can make a difference to other people’s lives by giving them the opportunity to join in, find friendship, or learn something totally new in a welcoming friendly setting.  You would of course be in control of your own subject admin, schedule, content and charges.  This could be a great opportunity to socialise and meet new people too.

Help Needed!

The Committee and fundraising volunteers are anxious to keep the hall open and in use.  This depends on the current committee who discuss, plan and organise all manner of things relating to the Jubilee Hall including events and activities that are needed to raise funds for the general upkeep of the building.
Unfortunately due to health, work and other personal commitments our committee numbers have been reduced.  We are therefore appealing to members of the community to spare a few hours of your time a month to volunteer and join our committee.  We are a friendly, easy going bunch who all live in the village.
We currently require people for the ‘fundraising’ team so if you have plenty of fundraising ideas and can help out with tasks we would love to hear from you.
We also now need to fill the Secretary and the Treasurer role.  These are not as daunting as they sound as we are a very small charitable trust.
If you would like to know more about any of these roles and what exactly is required then please email: jubileehalllitcham@gmail.com or contact Val Horton on 01328 700909.  Valerie Horton
