Allow me to introduce myself…
I’m Andrea Woods I am married to Tim. We have been Married for the past 31 years. Tim is a school’s taxi driver and assistant caretaker for a primary school just outside Norwich. He is also a keen runner, so if you see him pounding the streets do give him a wave. We have two adult sons. Tom is a sports minister, married to Emma and they have a 2-year-old son and are expecting a daughter in May, they live in Norwich. Sam is a professional dancer based in London.
As I write this, we are currently preparing to move to Gressenhall. On Sunday March 5th at 3pm at St Mary’s Church in Gressenhall I will be Licensed and Installed as Team Vicar.
I studied theology with the Eastern region Ministry course and for the last 3 years I have been Curate not far away in Mattishall and Tudd Valley Benefice.
Before ordination previous jobs have included: 8 years as a Children Young People and Families Worker for St Andrew’s Church in Eaton. 10 years as an Early Year’s practitioner in a preschool playgroup and previous to that, 9 years as a nurse. As well as being wife and mum. So, I bring with me a range of skills and experience.
In my spare time I enjoy being ‘Nana’ and spending time with my family, meeting up with friends for coffee and going to the theatre. I love walking and we spend a week every year up in the lake district, enjoying the lakes and climbing mountains.
Moving somewhere new, it always take a while to get one’s bearings and get to know the area and how each of the churches in the benefice works. We are so looking forward to meeting new people, please be patient with us while we learn the geography and all your names and forgive us if we ask you more than once.
Change is never easy and can take a while to get used to. When all is new and unfamiliar it is good to be reminded that God is bigger than all the change and that he has a plan and a purpose for each of our lives. In the Bible we read:
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord,
“plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Hebrews 11:29
With every blessing, Revd Andrea
