Although a little way ahead, our next Big Event is on Saturday 29th June when Pam Jackman is organising a concert with the West Norfolk Jubilee Youth Orchestra in the church at 4pm. Tickets are £5 to include afternoon tea. Children under 16 go free. Contact Pam for tickets on 01328 701622.
Looking back to Sunday 31st March, Mothering Sunday, it was also the Fifth Sunday and the Benefice Eucharist was held at Mileham Church, where we were made very welcome. The Benefice Choir lent a really lovely atmosphere with the anthems and leading the hymns.
Afterwards we enjoyed their hospitality with tea, coffee and lovely homemade cakes and biscuits. Reverend Miriam and Canon Heather kindly produced little flower posies for all the ladies of the congregation.
The previous week, on 24th March, six of us joined our Methodist friends for their annual Songs of Praise at Thursford which included signing with the Deaf Choir. The Revd Andrew King joined Stephen Lynn in taking the service. The theme was ‘Action for children’. It was a privilege and pleasure to work with Yvonne who taught us the signing. It was a moving experience with a lot of our deaf friends in the congregation. Next month I will let you know how the coffee morning at Bevan Cottage went.I leave you with this little prayer:
Thought for Today
Keep a light in your eye and a song on your lips
And you can face today.
Keep a good friend in your heart
And you can face tomorrow.
Keep a little hope and faith in your soul
And you can face the world!
So, until next month. Enjoy the summer. Love and God Bless,
